Cobham didn't play drums. He overwhelmed and conquered them.
Imagine how good you have to be to play with one of the greatest musicians ever. Thats how good this is.
I wouldn't expect that behavior from a German audience. That country has such a long and rich musical legacy. Not to mention writers and philosophers. Weird!
Birds of Fire was surreal
The ultimate band
I waited for this album to come out after reading about this band in Downbeat Magazine Couldn’t wait to hear it
really ; that slow 8,,,, got me, 😮😊
Great, but only Al di Meola plays it exactly in scales, like it should be....
The whole line up is top notch. (Remember the flock )?
wtf is dis, ima look for pdiddy
Here he uses a phrase from Miles Davis' Jack Johnson sessions.
I'm lucky to be born in 1956, to be around so young when innovation such as this was so powerful. What the frack happened, compared to now !
What incredible music. Been listening to and engaged by music since I was a teenager in the early Sixties when my buddies and I smoked French cigarettes in folk cafes and my girlfriend and I snuck into jazz clubs to hear Miles Davis and Nina Simone. Music is important to me. This is as good as it gets. Crazy but all too human that the musicians making such beauty couldn't work and grow together. Ego is a powerful negative force. But what beauty they made. The first album, with the mostly acoustic solo side, can still send shivers down my spine, as in Follow Your Heart. Here that stunning feeling is again. What creativity. Listening to JM playing this song recently, at J. Beck's recent memorial concert with Ronda, pairs so well with this. Thanks to the OP.
Brilliance!
Why this broadcast don't show the keyboards?
That 12 string leads insane. I’m partial to Mar y sol. That version is unbelievable. They’re always incredible. I’m lucky I saw the original and second edition.
That's no fair that's not even a pinky it's a other ring finger .. amazing
The person who does something very easy is The Maestro ❤❤❤
The bumblee is just warmup for them. Jorma is my favorite guitarist. I dislike jazz, but these two blo me away doing this,Nothin better, jorma now my top 3😊, thanks for your channel sir
dejar el alma en libertad
Pippi Calzelunghe!!!!!😂🎉😢😮😅
Es preciosa, hay una versión en el Cd Entre dos aguas con el bajo de Carles Benavent que es increíble!
Blessed to have seen the band twice in the 70s (yea I'm a boomer) and Goodman when he was playing in a blues band outside of Chicago before he hooked up with McLaughlin. Read a great review of one of their first concerts..."saphire bullets spraying all over the theater..."
Always loved the energy and flow and sonic landscape of Cobham’s magnificent riffs and timing
In Casino album Al Di Meola on guitar, Barry Miles on keyboard, Anthony Jackson on bass, Steve Gadd on drums, Eddie Colon on percussion, Mingo Lewis on percussion dream team for me. Casino album released in 1978. No internet, no much more material to access to see to read what are others doing? This live record is incredible, extreme performance.
Es mas rapida la pua que los dedos indice y medio de la mano derecha
Very interesting perfomance
original is sooooo much better
this work never gets old, it seems to come directly from the great beyond. marvellous ...
Good mellow band.!
Give me Miles any day!
What a ridiculous fake accent, John....
How did John get such a ridiculously fake accent? Weird....
C'est merveilleux de voir jouer les trois grands maîtres de la guitare ensemble sur un tel morceau de Chic Corea merci milles fois
Johnny Mclaughlin Electric Guitarist. Hell Yeah!!
That's tens of thousands of people just wanted to hear and watch him play guitar tens of thousands.
my goodness... 🤯
Peace, ☮️☮️☮️
Billy is DA MAN!
One of my most favourite pieces of guitar - magical by these three extremely gifted guitarists ( not really adequate a nomenclature but best I could come up with ) Edit - stringed pistoleros maybe better...
Autan la musique est bonne, autant la façon de filmer est à gerber ! Que ceux qui ont fait le film aillent se jeter !
And 4 days after this concert I was born.
This is why every drummer should have a gong.
schone!
Fall of 1983, UMASS Amherst, one of my dorm floormates turned me onto Mahavishnu and the Dregs in the same wonderful night. Always been thankful for that.
incredibile!
my BBC show
Love the way Billy strikes that gong.
Dude! What an upload! Great to see Jerry on violin. Each a virtuoso at their craft!
10:00 He threw the stick!
